building professionals fueled by creativity
Home should be a soulful place where your heart truly belongs.
A place worthy of that description requires heart and soul to create.
Established on a company culture that prizes creativity and attention to detail, structure. offers homeowners access to the brightest and best professionals and tradespeople in the home improvement and construction industry. Marrying cutting edge technology and materials with time-honored construction practices, the talented structure. team creates homes and spaces that shine with energy, style, and intuitive functionality.
Most importantly, the structure. team includes the homeowner, whose personal vision and needs guide all else.
structure. is led by company founder,
Matt continues a local family tradition of residential home building in the Washington DC area that spans four generations.
After a lifetime spent on construction sites and years of experience building and renovating some of the DC area's best homes, Matt launched structure. to break the parameters of exclusivity traditionally associated with high-quality and highly-stylized custom building.
" My dream for structure. has always been to provide my family, friends, and clients access to amazing personalized living - regardless of project size, scope, or budget. With nearly everything in today's world being customized on all levels
-from your cell phone's interface
to your burrito at Chipotle -
the place you call home should be no different. Your home should be a proud reflection of who you are and how you want to live.
structure. helps make YOUR home - truly YOURS."
Matt has collaborated on and managed numerous projects recognized by the Maryland Building Industry Association (formerly the MNCBIA) for excellence in residential home building, including multiple Gold Awards for annual Best Custom Homes; Custom Additions; and Whole House Renovation projects.
A graduate of John Carroll University (Cleveland, OH) and Our Lady of Good Counsel (Wheaton, MD), Matt worked on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Aide prior to entering the home building industry. Matt went on to be mentored by celebrated DC area builder Frank Bell before helping launch and manage the Renovations Division of Sandy Spring Builders.
Matt's family legacy in home building includes his grandfather Robert Tiffey (JB Tiffey & Son Construction);
his father Charles Covell (Covell Builders, Inc.); and his brother Chuck Covell (Covell Communities, LLC).
"There is nothing more rewarding than helping people unlock potential they may not have even known they had. For structure., this means helping our clients transform and improve their home or property in amazing ways they may have never imagined possible. Working together with the homeowner, our collaborative team ensures that these improvements to life and home are truly personal;
that the process of reaching that destination is inherently enjoyable;
and that structure.'s promise of 'home reinvented' is accessible for all."
